M1 is a MIDI controller which seeks to serve as an open source platform for people interested in building their own MIDI instruments and may also be utilized as an Eurorack case for modular synthesis.

I believe that the open source philosophy, just like in coding culture, should be applied to physical goods as well. This will allow people to easily access, share, and improve upon different objects and tools.

The increase of 3D printers, laser cutters and other manufacturing machines into people’s homes already encourages the need for access to a number of free designs which they can download themselves and print at home.
When completed this project will be uploaded to  instructables.com.
